Welcome to Cult of Hjarn!
Well, the running costs for RoboNomad were getting crazy. The renewal fees for the software needed to keep it going was getting crazy, and when I had the invoice come through and it wanted almost 10% of my current annual income, I decided enough was enough.
So what's with the name?
Prepare to facepalm yourself! Cult is a word for a group of people that share a common goal or belief, and Hjarn is an acronym for Hairy Jedi and Robo Nomad. Hjarn is also an old Nordic word for snow that's been frozen solid, and I think that's pretty cool. I've recorded myself saying it as a pronunciation guide here.
What now?
As always, I encourage you to share your thoughts and ideas. I wish to expand this site to include reliable gaming news, a guild portal, and a file sharing service. This site is by no means finished yet, but I didn't want to be offline for too long, so I kinda threw a working model together.
Why is it so different?
This site is made entirely from free software. The only costs are the web hosting and the domain name. This will make it easier on my mature student budget :)
